Make an adorable handmade Easter basket your child will cherish forever with this crochet Easter bunny basket pattern. Keep reading to learn how to make it. It’s easy!
A couple of years ago, I made my kids all a handmade Easter basket. I wanted baskets that could be reused from year to year instead of the Wal-mart 97 cent specials we usually bought.
I treasure things my grandmother made me when I was little, so I hope my kids feel the same way about the baskets I made them. They certainly were created with lots of love. (Be sure to check out the rest of the Easter crafts I have made for my kids while you are here!)
The first crochet Easter bunny basket I designed was made to fit around a plastic Gladware bowl. It worked, but the ears kept flopping over and my youngest daughter kept pulling the plastic container out.
So this crochet bunny basket pattern was attempt #2. I designed it around a plastic canvas support that makes it sturdier and helps the ears stand up straight. I love how it turned out. The finished Easter Bunny basket took me about 6 hours from start to finish to complete.

This crochet bunny basket pattern has plastic canvas support to help make it sturdier. This enables the ears and handle to stand up on their own. So you need to start with cutting the plastic canvas pieces.

You can make these crochet Easter Bunny baskets in whatever color you like. I chose a different color for each of my kids so they can tell them apart.
